The new sound of BBC Radio Scotland

Featuring the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, this full service branding package contains a diverse range of daytime and utility themes alongside specialist programming idents designed to reflect the broad output of the station.

As BBC Radio Scotland entered its 40th year of broadcasting they wanted a fresh feel to the station sound with enough depth to cover the entire output. The new package also needed a consistent sound which we achieved through a new eight note melody that features on all the themes.
